Embrace the Chaos and Own your Power
If you need a few guidelines for keeping your sanity among the chaos, this is place.
Life is a pain in the butt.
Sometimes.
Well, a lot of times, but it's also pretty great.
Don't sit around and wait for the "happy." Take control of what is within your power to get your poop in a group.
If you’re looking for ways to do more with less, this isn't the space for you. Sorry!
We are here to discuss doing more of what matters to you and less of what drains you...
If you're dodging texts and obligations or just hoping to eat dinner at the kitchen table, not in your car, these tips aim to help you feel a bit more... combobulated.
10 Combobulation Commandments
1. Thou Shalt Not Work from the Bathroom.
You deserve at least one sacred space...plus, what if they ask you to come off mute!
2. Remember the Sabbath, or at Least Five Minutes Where No One Talks to You.
Sit in the car for a few minutes before entering the wreckage that is your home, or fake that you needed to stay a little late. No judgement!
3. Honor Thy Sleep and Thy Snacks.
Hangry is real. Enough said.
4. Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Social Media Photos.
Social Media is a liar. They’re kids are covered in mud and crumbs too.
5. Thou Shalt Set and Defend Boundaries.
Firm, kind, and absolutely not allowing chaos.
6. Thou Shalt Not Suffer Guilt Over Things Thou Canst Not Control.
Not your problem. Feel it, then let it go.
7. Thou Shalt Embrace the Reset Button.
Whether it’s a breath, a walk, or locking yourself in the bathroom for a few minutes (but not with your phone. No working in the bathroom).
8. Thou Shalt Keep Holy the Word “No”.
Not all opportunities are blessings, and even if they are, it’s still ok to be too tired.
9. Thou Shalt Laugh As Often As Possible.
Even when things are messy. Humor is sacred.
10. Thou Shalt Not Attempt to Be All Things to All People.
It’s not possible or reasonable. Be you. Do what matters to you.
There you go! That was your slightly sarcastic, oddly wise guide to reclaiming a bit of peace in the storm.
There is no such thing as perfection.
Keep learning to set and defend your boundaries, develop a reset ritual that fits your lifestyle, and gain the freedom to say no without explanation.
(I know you can do it, and if you’re not there yet, baby steps!)
Getting your poop in a group isn’t doing more. It’s being present, being open, and doing what matters to you.
