Parenting Hack: Gift Giving, Keep it Simple While You Can
Feeling pressure about giving your little ones gifts? Keep it simple!
It's exciting when you have a new baby. There are so many cute items that you need for them, for your sanity's sake.
All the more reason to save your hard-earned cash while you can.
Parenting Hack:
If you have a child under 4 years old, read on...
First of all, avoid letting your child see you scroll through your phone for as long as possible. Kids will want a phone the moment they see you enjoying them...And once they are in Kindergarten, it's all over.
Second, do not get rid of your Amazon boxes. Tuck them away like your mom used to hide your Christmas presents, because they are gold when you have young children. If you are one of the rare families that does not have at least one individual with an Amazon addiction in your home, then keep an eye on your neighborhood for where the UPS man frequents...there are boxes in your neighborhood. Guaranteed.
When Christmas and birthdays roll around, wrap the boxes in festive paper and gift them to your child. Boxes are the perfect gift for children...and cats.
Plus, the price is right.
Soon enough, you'll be purchasing iPhones or technology that hasn't even been imagined yet. Better to invest the money you would have spent on the latest toddler toy in a high-yield savings account for those future purchases.
Your little ones are only going to play with the boxes anyway... learn from my mistakes.

Why did I spend money on the baby's first Christmas? Because...it's fun and it feels like the expectation, but it's not rational. Get a box. It'll work out better and be a sweet memory.
Memories are what matter.
