Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 7, 2025

Welcome to Life is Inconvenient.
Your privacy matters here, both because it’s legally important and because snooping is rude.

This page explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and how I keep it safe. If you have questions, just ask. I will try to figure out the answer.

1. What I Collect (and Why)

Information you give me

  • Comments & Contact Forms: If you leave a comment or send me a message, I collect the info you type (like your name, email address, and whatever you write).
  • Newsletter Signup: If you join my email list, I store your name and email so I can send you updates and the occasional kindness challenge.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, I use basic tools (e.g., cookies, analytics) to see how people use the site. This helps me figure out what content people actually read and what they skip (that helps me improve!).

2. How I Use Your Information

  • To reply to your messages.
  • To send you newsletters if you’ve signed up.
  • To improve the site and create content you enjoy.
  • To keep trolls and spammers out of the comments.

I will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I'm not even sure how to do those things.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores to make websites work better. This site may use cookies for:

  • Analytics (to see which posts get read)
  • Remembering your preferences (like if you’ve closed a pop-up)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer.

4. Third-Party Services

If I use trusted third-party tools (like email providers or website analytics), they may collect information too, under their own privacy policies. I only choose services that take privacy seriously.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I have about you
  • Ask me to correct or delete your information
  • Opt out of newsletters at any time (unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email)

6. Data Security

I do my best to keep your information safe with reasonable security measures. Still, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so please don’t send me sensitive personal details.

7. Updates to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. If I make big changes, I’ll post them here and update the “Effective Date” at the top.
